Speech 2011

Good morning,

I am very happy to have been chosen to give this speech, as it is a very important moment for all of us because each one is now going to take a different path.

I still remember our first years of school when we arrived crying at Ines’, Yayone’s, Wendy’s and some other teachers’ classes; when we were not yet aware of everything that we were going to live through at ELIS and  how quickly it would go by.

We have just finished a period of our life of about fourteen years where we have all been very happy, we have not only been educated to succeed at University but we have grown up in a cheerful and participative atmosphere where I would certainly emphasize our relationship with teachers.

Since we were really young and throughout this journey, we have always had an incredible relationship with practically every teacher of whom I take with me good memories.

There are thousands of anecdotes: From Jeffrey’s fun classes to Marisa’s advice, exams with Emilio where it was almost impossible to concentrate because of his talking, the countless neighbours and friends that Aurora has which turns Biology classes into funny debates, Irene’s comments such as “Sois unos terroristas emocionales” or “No elijáis carrera, haced todos arte dramático” which we will remember fondly, Toni’s “En verde” and his exhausting classes, and of course Mila, that even though we get on her nerves frequently (“Sólo os quedáis con lo anecdótico”) I will always remember her with great affection.

To all of them and to all the teachers I haven’t mentioned throughout Infant, Primary, Secondary and Baccalaureate, thank you, thank you because you have all contributed to fill an important part of my life.

Finally, I can’t say goodbye without mentioning my classmates with whom I have shared so many good moments, especially Victoria, Andrea and Mara.

Growing up with all of them I have learned the value of companionship, trust, respect, comprehension and support. I am going to miss them all and they will always be in my memory and in my heart.

Thank you
