Cooking Club

Cooking Club

The idea for the Club was in the Modern Languages Department.

Given the importance of food in French culture, we began to practise making simple dishes such as crêpes and el gâteau au chocolat.

The activity was a success and led to the Second Language Spanish class making paella and tortilla; and the German class making waffles.

Pupils began to enjoy the activities and talked about them as a very positive and rewarding experience.

And so, in 2007, the Cooking Club was formally opened by those pupils who already ventured into their kitchens at home and by others who were just starting. The School Management and Head Chef supported the idea from its beginnings.

The Cooking Club notice board in Seneca keeps members informed of meetings, dates and activities planned throughout the school year.

There is room in the Club for anyone looking to share and collaborate with a dose of good humour and enthusiasm. The Club encourages communication between its members, a sense of responsibility and good behaviour.

The smells and flavours of working together in the Cooking Club will be good memories for its members in years to come.

Welcome!
